1852 Peter McEwan Long Nose Play Club
The McEwan family was one of the top clubmakers dating back to as early as the 1770's, a time when feathery balls were still being played. The McEwan's were a legendary family of six club makers with this long nose most likely fashioned by Douglas (1809-1886) or Peter (1834-1895). In this time period they were operating their shop at Musselburgh. An authentic McEwan crafted club is expected to draw major interest from bidders looking to enhance their hickory club collection. The club has 'McEwan' stamped on the crown in bold fashion, displaying perfectly. The grip shows wear, please see photographs. Club length 4" to the heel, club face 1 1/4", and across crown 1 7/8"
Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on Sunday, November 19th, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
