1921 Bobby Jones & Alexa Stirling Type 1 Shake Hands Photo - Jones Age 19 PSA #84810223
Only days after turning 19-years old and months prior to his infamous 'losing temper', Bobby Jones is captured in this crystal clear type 1 photo shaking hands with childhood friend and legend in her own right Alexa Stirling at their home course of East Lake Country Club. A smile on each of their youthful faces (Stirling 23 years of age), Jones held his golf bag and Stirling a golf ball as they came together here. Green behind the ears, Jones would learn how to become a champion and capture his first major two years later. Alexa Stirling won three US Women's Amateur titles in 1916, 1919 and 1920, while Bobby Jones finished with 13 including the 1930 impregnable quadrilateral and follow through on his vision of the Augusta National Golf Club and The Masters Tournament. For valuation, presentation and preservation PSA/DNA encapsulated this type 1 photo. The photographic composition showcases a wide range of value, while not losing detail, from the darkest dark in the shadow below Jones' coat to the lightest light in the highlight on his ear. 8" x 10"
