1932 Amateur Public Links Contestant Badge with Celluloid Tag #50
Employing the design as used by the United States Golf Association since the early 1920's until the early 1930's for Contestants Badges at each of their Championships. This Depression era contestants badge from the 1932 United States Amateur Public Links Championship comes from an unknown player who was designated #50. The green/blue enamel which encircles, the prominent USGA lettering, can still be clearly read as "Amateur Public Links Championship July 19 To 23, 1932". The scalloped edge badge was manufactured by the Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, NJ, and this is clearly stamped on the reverse of the badge which still carries the original issued clasp. R.L. Miller would claim his only Amateur Public Links victory.
1 1/4" diameter
