1932 U.S. Caramel Card #9 Gene Sarazen

This hobby entry from the challenging multi-sport 1932 US Caramel set is known for its ultra bright red background that is move to accent the diagonal stripes of Gene Sarazen's tie. A smiling portrait photo perfectly captures the essence of the affable elder statesman of the modern day grand slam club with only 5 total entrants a century later. This condition-sensitive ungraded card once added to caramel candy packaging remains in good condition, with the accompanying lot photos acting as a detailed report. Other entrants in this card checklist were baseball stars Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, along with fellow golfer Bobby Jones. Predating his historic Double Eagle fueled Masters Tournament win in 1935, this card celebrates Sarazen's US Open and Open Championship wins on the verso.
