1933 Ryder Cup at Southport & Ainsdale Course Official Souvenir Program

This remarkable foundation piece from only the fourth Ryder Cup is a worthy and visually exciting relic of the contest it commemorates. This is a museum-quality 1933 program, and a more-than-suitable cornerstone for almost 90 years of treasured Ryder Cup memories. Between the soft covers is captivating content including 'A Personal Message from Walter Hagen' along with write ups on the Southport and Ainsdale venue and each of the competitors that week. The prized ephemera in this lot was preserved by one of the patrons in attendance during the Great Depression era international contest. It has made the trip across the pond and is now poised to enter a carefully curated golf program collection or library. Easterbook and Shute were all square on the final green facing par putts of approximately 30 feet each. It would be Easterbrook to putt first - leaving his approach putt within tap-in range. Shute hit his first putt four feet past the hole and missed the comeback putt. With this the trophy went back to Britain and the series was tied 2-2!
