1933 US Open Qualifying Contestants Badge

In 1933 Sectional Qualifying was still a relative new formula to the U.S.G.A having been first added in 1924 for the United States Open Championship. The concept of giving every qualified golfer in the world a chance to claim the U.S. Open title worked to the ultimate perfection as the amateur Johnny Goodman went on to win the 1933 U.S. Open (becoming the fifth and final amateur to this day to win the Championship). Seldom seen 1 1/4 diameter 1933 U.S. Qualifying celluloid pinback contestants badge is offered here with the badge exhibiting a crisp, clean surface that presents in NR/MT condition. Original M. Pudlin Co. NYC paper insert inside the verso of pin.

Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on November 22nd with extended bidding to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
