1934 US Open Program
The 1934 U.S. Open was the first contested by the United States Golf Association at Merion although it had been a popular site for both men's and women's U.S. Amateurs previously. Over the next 80 years Merion would become a very historical site for U.S. Opens hosting five to date. Offered here is a program from that '34 Open. Front cover is nice on this ALL ORIGINAL example, as some one is reviewing your collection flipping through programs 1933, 1934, 1935. They may even comment "boy that '34 is nice" based on cover alone. Eighty year old U.S. Open programs just do not turn up that often.orange. With the binding being tight, showing wear on the corners, but with the inner pages in great condition with no signs of staining or water damage, we are proud to auction off such an exquisite piece of golf history. Please observe the pictures provided. We are pleased to offer such a great example of the '34 program for the U.S.Open won by Olin Dutra and published by the United States Golf Association. Oh did we mention that 1934 was the first year that both Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson played in a U.S. Open.
