1935 Augusta National 2nd Annual Invitation (Masters) Tournament Program - Excellent Condition!

The are said to be around 30 known 1934 Masters programs still in existence. There are even fewer 1935 the Augusta National Invitation Tournament programs in this condition. Protected under glass for many years, this newly discovered 1935 program comes straight from the PGA of America's collection. It is truly one of the finest examples the industry has ever seen. Note the ‘Masters’ in parenthesis above, that is to remind everyone that the Masters Tournament back in 1935 was not called the ‘Masters’, it was in fact referred to as the Augusta National Invitational Tournament. This program was referred to as a Year book, but for all intensive purposes we will refer to it as a program. For any serious collector it is a must have, this being one of the very few 1935 Programs remaining after nearly 84 years. The program is complete, with no restoration. The brick red color on the cover is accented by the vibrant Augusta Green, as well as the tan and soft burnt orange. The binding is tight and the program's inner pages are in great condition with no signs of staining or water damage. We are proud to auction off such an exquisite piece of golf history. As every collector knows, pictures displaying the pages being raised are only an example of the binding being intact, please observe the pictures provided. A shadowbox is included in this lot with the program. This relic of competition at golfs highest level comes directly from the PGA where it has resided for over 75 years. From the collection of PGA REACH, with a certificate of authenticity accompanying this lot.
