1935 Bethpage Blue Exhibition Match Silver Cigarette Case Engraved & Given to Vic Ghezzi

Engraved V.G., with engraved inscription inside cover along with separate card reading "Victor Ghezzi Cigarette Case, Exhbition Golf Match, Blue Course, Bethpage State Park, August 18, 1935, Victor Ghezzi, Craig Wood, Jimmy Thompson (sic-Thomson), Al Brosch". Measures 5" x 3" and is in near mint good condition with minor wear. Match was staged to showcase A.W. Tillinghast's just completed 1935 project of three courses at the Bethpage State Park, known in the day as "the Peoples Country Club". This match paired four NewYork/New Jersey area pro's with Thomson/Brosch besting Ghezzi/Wood by a score of 3 and 2. The Ghezzi/Wood pairing would achieve far more career acclaim with each registering major wins and election to golf Hall of Fames, Ghezzi (PGA) and Wood (World Golf). Certificate of Authenticity stating this item comes from PGA Reach collection comes with this item.
