1937 Amateur Public Links Contestant Badge #231 - San Francisco

Bruce McCormick was the 1937 U.S. Amateur Public Links champion, two-time California Amateur champion and three-time SCGA Amateur champion. McCormick is one of six people to capture consecutive California Amateur Championship titles which he won in 1946 and 1947. The following two years, he won the SCGA Amateur Championship and became the oldest SCGA Amateur winner when he won his third title in 1963

Employing the design which the United States Golf Association would use on it's Championship Contestants badges from the early 1930's until 1959. This example displays a top condition white and blue enamel facing. Also boldly present on the front of this gem is embossed "USGA" for the sanctioning United States Golf Association which oversaw this event. In addition, 'San Francisco' is also presented nicely. Stamped on the reverse of the pin is "ROBBINS CO ATTLEBORO" its manufacturer.
