1937 Horton Smith at The Western Open One stroke Behind Sam Snead 6x8 Wire Photo
Only a year removed from winning his second Masters Tournament, Horton Smith was still on top of the golf world. Making a charge against Slammin Sammy Snead, the inaugural Masters Champion found himself only one stroke behind in the 1937 Western Open when this photo was taken. As it turns out, Sam wasn't the one he needed to worry about as he eventually found himself on the wrong end of a playoff with defending champion Ralph Guldahl. This clear closeup shot carries the accompanying caption and proper wire photo stamping on the verso of this photo. 6" x 8"
