1940-1953 Harvey C. Fruehauf Championship Sterling Silver Trophy - Wolferts Roost CC
Wolferts Roost Country Club in Albany, NY had to feel good about their touring trophy, that contains each of the past tournament champions, engraved with the name Willie Turnesa. Turnesa was top billing in amateur golf in the late 1930's and 1940's, championing the US Amateur in both 1938 and 1948, along with the British Amateur in 1947. Sparing no expense, this Harvey C. Fruehauf Championship trophy was crafted of sterling silver and was presented and displayed from 1940 until 1953 as the touring trophy. New York native Willie Turnesa beat the tournament field in 1941, receiving the trophy from the 'offbeat' and flamboyant, yet successful inaugural champion Thomas Goodwin. Goodwin won the NYS Amateur in 1932, 1936, 1946 and 1953, also seven consecutive south in Florida. Other champions listed from 1942-1953 in order are: David G. Daniels, Daniel J. Gormley, Stanley J. Gormley, Stanley J. Kowal, William J. Shields, John P. Ward, Henry J. Kowal, Mike Dudik, Lonnie Parks, and Pierce H. Russell. The frontside of this trophy includes 'Harvey C. Fruehauf Championship Trophy - Wolferts Roost Country Club - Invitation Golf Tournament,' along with the proud club's early logo of an owl perched on its roost. Eye appeal of this trophy is maximized with intricate engravings of a master craftsman and each feather detailed on the front and centered owl. The silver hallmark reads Sterling and 804-13 on the base. 13 1/4" d, 7" tall. 3Lb 2.1oz.

Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm EDT
4. All available lots will begin closing at 10pm EDT
