1941 Masters Tournament SERIES Badge #899 with Original String - Only Known Example!

Collectors advancing into the thinner air of Masters tickets, and to be more specific ducats with the designation for full weeks admittance to Augusta National known as a SERIES TICKET must give this opportunity concerted attention. It has long been recognized by the devoted collectors of Masters tickets that there is a real scarcity of 1941 daily admittances that remain, 77 years after the fact, be they for any day of the event. Now lets go one step forward to a real stratospheric level of scarcity -- NEVER BEFORE HAS A 1941 MASTERS SERIES TICKET BEEN FOUND, a holy grail so to speak, sought by many for decades but only a dream until this find. Let's delve into the specifics of this previously unknown treasure. It is signed by Helen Dettweiler (deceased 1990) a women's professional golfer who was in Augusta in the spring of 1941 to compete in the Titleholder's Championship, an event she had finished runner-up in 1940. Dettweiler was a fascinating women in many aspects as the first female broadcaster in Major League baseball, a World War II pilot of flying B-17 bombers, and as one of the 13 founding members of the Ladies Professional Golf Association.

With Dettweiler in town for her tournament, and her previous success in the Augusta golf scene at its highest level it is natural to assume she attended the 1941 Masters Tournament and signed this ticket for a fellow patron. At that time, Bobby Jones invitational event contested April 3–6 at Augusta National Golf Club golf was becoming a must attend event for the golfing community. In the tournament Craig Wood claimed his first major title, three strokes ahead of runner-up Byron Nelson. On an equal plateau to this win, are the previously mentioned difficulty in finding tickets from the event much less a SERIES TICKET offered here that remains in sparkling condition and ready for display. A high gradable example, with technical deductions only for a small crease at the right middle front of ticket by the dating April 6 along with the slightest edge wear. The reverse of ticket also presents in extremely clean condition with only that similar positioned minor crease. This example deserves to be placed in a major collection run of Masters badges, so it can shine among its peers for years to come. The answer to many collectors prayers, a resounding " Yes There Is A 1941 Masters Series Ticket!"
