1941 USGA Women's Amateur Championship at The Country Club Contestant Badge
For the second time The Country Club of Brookline was granted the USGA US Women's Amateur Championship in 1941, the final playing prior to World War II canceling the event until 1946. Betty Hicks Newell, competing under her maiden name of Elizabeth Hicks. She won the tournament 5 and 3 over Helen Sigel. This USGA contestant badge by Robbins Co. was composed with the organization's traditional design and is in good condition, as shown in the accompanying lot photographs.
