1942 Frank Stranahan Championship Trophy 10th Annual Miami Biltmore
In 1942 as a 19 year old, Frank Stranahan added his name to the champions list when he claimed the amateur title at the Miami Biltmore contested in Coral Gables, Florida. His victory in the 36 hole final came over Gene Dahlbender, Jr. by a score of 3 and 2 with young Frank sealing the deal with a eight foot birdie putt on the 16th hole of the afternoon finale.
His victors trophy is offered in this lot with etchings:
