1943 Nashville City Open Champions Trophy-Won by Frank Stranahan Course Record 63
While serving his country in the Army Air Corp. Frank Stranahan was stationed just outside Nashville Tennessee. The Blonde Blaster during this period captured the 2nd Annual Nashville Open as hosted by the local newspaper The Tennessean. In the third round Stranahan shot a 63 to establish a new course record at the host Belle Meade course. This round paced Frank's 2 under performance and led to his one stroke 284 to 285 triumph.For his accomplishment Frank Stanahan received the trophy offered in this lot which is front engraved: Tennessean - City Open - Champion - 1943 - Frank Stranahan.
The bottom is engraved: Silver on Copper - English.
Dimensions of the champions award are 10" diameter at top, inside diameter is 7". 10 1/2" tall
A portion of the Frank Stranahan collection proceeds will be donated to The First Tee of Lake Erie.
