Offered here is an autographed black sharpie Grand Slam Ventures card of 1946 Masters champion Herman Keiser. The signature presents quite strong ("9"). This set which was produced in 1993 was just before Mr. Keiser's signature was starting to be affected by the dibilitating affects of the Alzheimer's disease in the late 1990's. A few veteran golf collectors visited him at his driving range in Copley, Ohio after the set was issued, and have provided the limited number of quality signatures which the hobby knows today. As the new century dawned the 1946 Masters champ sold the driving range and was confined to a nursing home. He would still travel to Augusta for the champions dinner each year, but due to his illness most days could not sign a legible autograph even though he tried to be as accomodating as he could be. The 1946 Masters champ succombed to complications from the Alzheimer's disease on December 24, 2003. James Spence Letter of Authenticity accompanies this signed Keiser GSV card.
