1946 Spring Lake Golf & CC Pro-Member Tournament Contestant Badge - Ralph Hutchison
While the Spring Lake Pro-Member was an ``unofficial'' event, the field, which included the likes of Sarazen, Snead, Ghezzi and others, was incredibly strong, and the gambling auction, with a pool that swelled to over $70,000, meant players could pocket more money than in a month of tour events. Nelson always considered his one-shot victory in 1945 over Snead and Herman Barron at Spring Lake his 12th straight win. This Contestants Badge is from the 1946 and belonged to Ralph Hutchison. In 1947, the United States Golf Association banned these type of events
