1948 Texas Open Sterling Plate-Frank Stranahan 2nd Amateur
Frank Stranahan had many career success' throughout the state of Texas over his career. However at the 21st Texas Open held at Brackenridge Park in San Antonio Frank had to settle for second place honors. In the stroke event he was bested 282 to 286 by Dick McCreary of Houston.For his runnerup efforts Stranahan received a sterling plate which is etched:

A portion of the Frank Stranahan collection proceeds will be donated to The First Tee of Lake Erie.
