1949 Western Amateur-Frank Stranahan's Sterling Champions Plate
Frank Stranahan delivered his second career Western Amateur Championship displaying a performance of long driving in wrapping up the 36 hole final match in 32 holes with a 5 and 4 triumph over Walter Cisco. Before 3,000 fans at St. Louis' Bellerive Country Club, Stranahan was two-over-par for the 32 holes of the final match. For his triumph Stranahan received the 13"diameter by 1" tall plate which is offered in this lot carrying the engraving Western Amateur Championship
