1949 US Open at Medinah CC Round 1 Thursday Ticket - Cary Middlecoff Winner

Presented here is a 1949 US Open at Medinah CC Round 1 Thursday Ticket in good condition. Cary Middlecoff, with brilliant second and third rounds of 67 and 69 over the tough layout of Medinah's No. 3 course just outside of Chicago, saw his large lead be challenged over the final round by Clayton Haefner and Sam Snead. Though challenged, Middlecoff held on for a one stroke margin of victory over both his pursuers. The ticket bears strong, black ink that hasn't lightened up over the 71 years.
