1951 $10k Miami Open Low Amateur Tray
The 1951 edition of the Miami Open was contested at the Miami Springs Country Club. With a final round of 69, Stranahan easily coasted to the low amateur title. The overall championship in this event was another victory for "the Slammer" with Sam Snead coming home at 268. The pro's of the day knew to always keep one eye on Stranahan as he had already upstaged them at this event in 1948 winning not only the amateur title, but the overall title as well that year.
Offered in this lot, for his work in 1951, is Stranahan's low amateur award which is etched: 1951 - $10,000 Miami Open - Low Amateur - Frank Stranahan
The underside of this award is engraved with the metal it was designed with and a manufacturing logo: Silver on Copper.
