1952 Major Winners Boros & Turnesa w/Perry Como signed Brookside CC Ticket
What a star studded affair this most have been in August of 1952 when that year's reigning United States Open champion, Julius Boros,and that year's PGA championship winner, Jim Turnesa played in a Monday charity affair to benefit the Caddies Association. As big a name as the two professional golfers were they had to be upstaged by an accomplished amateur golfer who joined the foursome, Perry Como. The star entertainer, Como, would over his career win both Grammy and Emmy awards and receive not one but three Hollywood Walk of Fame stars. Stars all three of these golfers were at the time, with Turnesa being the most accomplished of six pro golfing brothers (a Major Winner & 1953 Ryder Cup member). Boros would fashion a Hall of Fame career in golf highlighted by three Major wins. The pencil signed event ticket comes from the Donald Ross designed Brookside Country Club in Canton, Ohio just 115 miles from the birthplace of Como in Canonsburg, Pa. There is a fourth unidentified signature on this ticket.
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed each of the other three signatures on the ticket, and their certificate of authenticity comes with this lot.
