1953 The Walker Cup at The Kittansett Club Program - USA 9-3
Founded in 1922, the Kittansett Club is one of the region's most historic private golf clubs, and one of only a few seaside courses in New England. Kittansett is translated in the Native American language to "Near the Sea". The United States defeated Great Bitain & Ireland 9-3 over the 3 day event, it marked the fourteenth contested Walker Cup.
