1954 Sports Illustrated Vol. 1 Issue 1 Magazine with Original Mailer
A clean original first issue of Sports Illustrated which covers depicts Eddie Mathews at bat with the New York Giants Wes Westrum catching in game action from Milwaukee Braves County Stadium. There is light wear along the spine and some wear marks on the cover. The original colors remain bright and vibrant. This iconic magazine has been kept in beautiful condition over the past 60 years, and includes the seldom seen original mailing envelope. Interior has tri-fold pullout of 27-1954 paper(same stock as magazine,not card stock)Topps baseball cards (9 per page) which depict such Hall of Famers as Willie Mays, Richie Ashburn, Jackie Robinson and Ted Williams.Dimensions of this publication are 12" x 8 3/4"
