1959 Official 59th Amateur Program

This copy of the 1959 United States Amateur program, is as clean as you will find. Easily attaining Near-Mint status over its lilly white pages and flawless cover. This U.S.G.A. produced publication was for the Championship of U.S. Amateur golf contested at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. At this event, 19-year-old Jack Nicklaus first realized 'that he may have a future in golf' when he defeated Charles Coe; 1 up, in the 36-hole final match for the Championship. Strong spine with all pages intact on this blazing beauty of a program. To this day, Jack still claims that this was the first of his 20 career Majors, not 18 as the media famously quotes, but to Nicklaus' chagrin the trend of the day is to not credit his two Amateur titles as Majors.

Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on September 28th with extended bidding to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended.
