1959 Burt Lancaster & R. Kibbee Founders Day Inv. at El Caballero CC Winners Trophy Tray

Burt Lancaster is well known as one of the greatest male stars of classic American cinema, appearing in nearly 80 fillms. In his career, Lancaster also produced twenty-three films, directed two and wrote for one. Roland Kibbee, the other name etched on the tray, was the producer for three of Lancasters’ films. A partnership with Kibbee was formed in 1967, and the dynamic duo never looked back. Kibbee at the time had already worked as a writer on five Lancaster projects: Ten Tall Men, The Crimson Pirate, Three Sailors and a Girl (in which Lancaster made a cameo appearance), Vera Cruz and The Devil's Disciple. They produced The Scalphunters in 1968, Valdez Is Coming in 1971 (which was also written by Kibbee) and The Midnight Man in 1974. The Midnight Man was written, produced and directed by both Kibbee and Lancaster, and would be the actor's final film as a producer.

The tray is Wallace silver plated grand baroque style that catches the eye. El Caballero Country Club is located in Tarzana, California and hosted the 1927 Los Angeles Open. The tray measures 23 1/4" from handle to handle, the depth is 14 1/2", and the golfers stand 4 1/2" tall from top of tray. The golfers are sterling silver, the tray is silver plated, and the opportunity to own a seldom seen unique piece of Hollywood is here for you now. This stunning trophy is from the 1959 Founders Days Invitational at El Caballero Country Club. The winners names - Burt Lancaster and R. Kibbee - are etched on the tray, along with beautiful floral etching throughout the tray.
