One of the more difficult to find momentoes of the 1962 U.S. Open and Jack Nicklaus' first P.G.A. tour victory is the Oakmont Open pennant. This pennant with distinctive sixties graphics has a body in black felt which features white lettering reversing out of the black background. Pennant is 11x30, point in good condition, with no holes, some very minor stitching missing from yellow portion. The left side containes a period appropriate golfer which carries the text 'JUNE 11 THRU 16TH'. In similar fashion on the right side of the pennant is the text '62ND USGA NATIONAL OPEN OAKMONT, PA'. Combine a seldom scene item in the pennant collecting world with Jack Nicklaus' first career win at the U.S. Open nonetheless and you have a very desired item.
