1963 Ryder Cup Committee Button Down Long Sleeve Navy Jacket

Here lies the 1963 Ryder Cup tournament-worn navy blue blazer once on the shoulders of PGA of America member and world premier golf rules official in his day, Jack Sargent. This piece out of the Atlanta Athletic Club professional for his work on the tournament committee at the East Lake Golf Club biennial international matches is now shared by the family for the first time in over 50 years. Embroidered Ryder Cup logo can be found prominently outlined in gold stitching, with matching buttons. Presenting best on a mannequin, this coat commands attention as a difficult Ryder Cup piece work inside the ropes that week as East Lake. In all likelihood the great Bobby Jones shook hands with Jack while he wore that coat, a longtime friend and proponent of The Sargent family. As far as the contest results themselves, Arnold Palmer in his first Ryder Cup action debuted in style as playing Captain leading his team to the second-largest victory margin in Ryder Cup history 23 to 9.

Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!

1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm ET
