1965 PGA Championship at Laurel Valley Ticket - Dave Marr Winner

Ten years prior to holding the Ryder cup events of 1975, the well-known club of Laurel Valley hosted the PGA Championship. Dave Marr was able to get his named engraved on the famed Wanamaker Trophy, marking his only major victory. Two strokes ahead of Billy Casper and Jack Nicklaus was all he needed. Presented in this lot is a patron ticket from Marr's victory. This was also the final PGA Championship appearance for two-time champion Ben Hogan at age 53. After his near-fatal auto accident in early 1949, Hogan's legs could not withstand the grueling match play schedule, therefore he did not play in the championship until it became a stroke play event. This ticket presents in very good condition.
