1972 Masters Awarded Eagle Hole #13 Crystal Highball Glass - Al Geiberger
Along with other traditions such as the Crystal Vase for the low score of the day, Hole-In-One, and a Double Eagle; the Steuben Crystal Highball Glasses are given to a competitor who succeeds in scoring an eagle on any one of the holes at Augusta National during the Masters Tournament. This tradition dates to the 1954 tournament, when the Augusta National presented these glasses of achievement for the first time. Over The Golf Auction's ten years of business we have only offered seven of these highly collectible awards. This also marks the second time we have had a crystal award from the 13th hole (breakdown of previous seven by hole #2 (2), #13 (1), #14 (1), #15 (3).Offered here for consideration is Al Geiberger's crystal highball glass in near mint condition, with all etchings on glass well preserved, in similar fashion to the day it was presented at the 1972 Masters Tournament. "Mr. 59" made an eagle in '72 on the 13th hole at Augusta, "Azalea". We sold the companion piece (awarded in pairs) to this crystal award in our 2018 April auction for $2,038.
Please note: This auction will end at 5:00pm EST on Sunday, June 17th, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period.
