1981 The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass Contestant Badge/Clip
Ray Floyd was the winner of the 1981 tournament and received a contestant clip very similar to this one. Many consider The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass the 5th major in importance and with the field, excitement and iconic course (specifically 17th hole) it is tough to argue that. None the less, before you is 1981 Players Championship winner Ray Floyd's trophy that was presented to him only moments after securing the victory after a three-way tie at the end of 72 holes with Curtis Strange and Barry Jaeckel. It would take a single extra hole for Ray to separate himself from the pack and be crowned champion, with the Joseph C. Dey Trophy from the Tournament Players Association and a $72,000 check.
