Arnold Palmer's Personal Umbrella Lapel Pin with Signed Response Letter
Few symbols in golf resonate more than the Arnold Palmer umbrella. It is associated with not just Palmer paving the way for future athletes to successfully brand themselves, but Arnold Palmer the person on and off the course. Generous to those that needed it the most, umbrella lapel pins continue to show support for the man fit to be King. Here is Arnold Palmer's own example in which he used for approximately four years until the consignor, working as a housekeeper to Winnie Palmer at the time in 1984, found Arnold Palmer's original umbrella pin that he had lost. Winnie, overjoyed, thanked consignor Melody Tremble for her meaningful discovery and in return wanted to give her the gold-tone lapel pin Palmer had been wearing as a replacement to his original for the last four years prior. This story is documented in Winnie Palmer's hand on the signed note in this lot. Additionally Tremble wrote a letter directly to Arnold Palmer many years later asking if he remembered the situation and could confirm the story - and that is exactly what he did - also in this lot with a signature to conclude it. Additional supporting pieces include two WWP match books, Winnie Palmer's personal examples. A letter to Arnold Palmer and from from Melody Tremble and Winnie Palmers signed note come with this lot as pictured.

AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
Place your bids NOW. The auction will close beginning at 10:00pm EDT Sunday, April 9th. When placing your INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. Each lot has its own 30 minute countdown clock during extended bidding. The clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. Place your initial bids BEFORE 10pm ET in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you may bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. Lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 10pm ET
Extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, and each lot will begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid placed during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you
