Babe Zaharias Hand Written Letter
346 Bade Didrickson Zaharias Handwritten Letter,Envelope & First Day Cover
In many ways, she was the female version of "Babe Ruth". A colorful, gifted athlete, Babe Didrickson captured the nation's imagination with her boundless achievements. Although she won two gold medals at the 1932 OLympics, it wasn't until later that she became a world class golfer. Extremely long off the tee, she'd strive to leave herself nothing more than an 8-iron secon shot on par four holes. in 1946, Babe won the U.S. Amateur winning the 36-hole final, 11-9. Shortly after she became a professional and went on to win three U.S. Women's Opens in 1948,1950 and 1954. Presented is a handwritten letter on her personal stationary.Offered with its original matching envelope, which is addressed in her ownhand and postmarked 1955, the letter is penned to a friend in light blue ballpoint and is signed simply "Babe". The envelope and the single 7 X 10 1/2 sheet share Didrickson's distinctive crest and detailed "Babe D. Zaharias facsimile signature.
