The one commonality that most athletes and celebrities share is their appreciation of the game of golf. Whether it is playing a pro-am or relaxing on an off day, they find themselves on the course. Here is Los Angeles Dodger ace Sandy Kofax mid-swing, caught by the lensman and fellow California native Alex Morrison. Sanford Koufax is an American former professional baseball left-handed pitcher. He pitched 12 seasons for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball from 1955 to 1966. Koufax, at age 36 in 1972, became the youngest player ever elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Alex Morrison's studio stamp is found on the bottom of the verso of this photo. 8" x 10"
Esteemed golf instructor Alex Morrison was behind many impressive game's, likely none more than that of Henry Picard's. The lineage to the Golden Bear is simple and complex, as Picard then taught Jack Grout, who taught Jack Nicklaus. Morrison was behind all of it, and much more as his teachings were in numerous books and newspapers for the masses. His reach in the golf industry went further, as Morrison became an acclaimed photographer and writer, each of which could have been his sole profession. Here is an original Morrison photo, with the influential figure the eye behind the camera that took it.
