Bobby Jones 1935 Exhibition Match at San Antonio Country Club - Seldom Seen
"Bobby Jones Thrills 2,000 In Exhibition Golf Match" read the headline of the San Antonio Express Newspaper on January 10, 1935, a day after Jones put on a show at San Antonio Country Club. Less than a year after his new club Augusta National Golf Club hosted the inaugural Masters Tournament Bobby Jones' golfing consisted of exhibition matches and Masters Tournament play. Jones retired at the age of 28 in 1930 after completing his incredible Grand Slam and likely the most significant year of golf in the United States up until that point. You will find in this lot a seldom seen relic once sold to the public for a single dollar to witness the larger than life Bobby Jones play their home course of San Antonio Country Club. The pertinent information can be found on the front side of the ticket in jet black print. Paper shows its age of 85 years old, yet is in good overall condition. 'Sponsored by S.A. Junior League. Wednesday, January 9, 1935.' Ticket collectors will be happy to locate this piece boldly bearing the name of one of the greatest to ever play the game. The reverse caries an advertisement for the local 'Joske Brothers Company' with their family crest. 3 1/2" x 2 3/8"

1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
