Bobby Jones Color Photo on Cover of Great Northern Railway Menu w/Mailing Envelope
Bobby Jones rode many a train in his career and the Great Northern Railway sought to capitalize on that and his fame by putting a spectacular color photo of him on the cover of its dining car menu. The photo was taken by famed photographers Underwood and Underwood and was produced from a photo of Jones warming up outside the Oakmont Club house in 1925 for the USGA Amateur Championship. (reference: see page 74 of the book The Greatest of Them All The Legend of Bobby Jones by Martin Davis (1966). There is a facsimile “Bobby Jones” signature on the lower right of the photo. Measures 7” x 10 ¼” . This item a is enclosed in its never before seen original Great Northern Railway mailing envelope which protected it in fantastic condition, as detailed in accompanying lot photos. A unique and scarce Bobby Jones advertising item that will have advertising collectors equally swooning over.

During extended bidding, each lot will have its own 30-minute countdown clock. The clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot for a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. Place your initial bids BEFORE 10pm ET in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you may bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. Lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 10pm ET
Extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, and each lot will begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid placed during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you
