Bobby Jones Production Art & Engraving Plate - Grand Slam Seldom Seen
Presented here is a seldom seen engraving plate commemorating Bobby Jones and his grand slam achievement in 1927. These were often used for the first day cachets typically seen from the United States Postal Service commemorating golf. The text reads as follows:
"Official First Day of Issue
Honoring Bobby Jones
World Ruler of Amateur Golf
Captured Grand Slam- Merion
September 27, 1930"
The engraving plate measures 4" x 8", and production art picture measures 9" x 11 1/2".
