Charlie Yates & Bob Jones with others Scored 1941 Atlanta Athletic Club Scorecard
The date was March 29, 1941 and Bobby Jones was joined by 1938 US Amateur Champion and Augusta National Golf Club Secretary Charlie Yates, Al Holden, and Bill Street played a friendly round at Bobby Jones' home course of Atlanta Athletic Club a mere days prior to hosting the final Masters Tournament prior to their World War II break. This scored scorecard from that round is signed by Charlie Yates at the top, showing the prized amateur matching Bobby Jones' 2-under 69 score. Each Jones and Yates matched par on the front nine before carding a 33 on the backside. It would be in preparation for Bobby Jones' Masters play, finishing 40th the year that featured Craig Wood as the victor. Charlie Yates would go on to be a 5-time Masters Tournament Low Amateur, tied for 17th overall the year prior (1940). A unique acquisition opportunity lies in this lot, the prized piece of story-line filled ephemera of a scored scorecard of Bobby Jones, Charlie Yates and their partners Holden and Street from The Atlanta Athletic Club.

When placing INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bids in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm ET
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm ET
**Once extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, each lot will then begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you**
