This course flown flag is from the inaugural 1976 World Series of Golf. Jack Nicklaus would capture his 61st P.G.A. tour victory with Hale Irwin finishing second. This event was held at Firestone Country Club in August of 1976. Nicklaus' long-time caddy Angelo Argea claimed this flag at the end of the Tournament. The white flag("14 1/8 by "21 1/8) has the silk screened "World Series Of Golf" emblem centered. Three brass grommets appear on the left of the flag with one of the three showing fibors still attached from the attaching process between flag and pinstick. Company manufacturor of the flag was Dettra flag and this information also appears on the left side of the flag along with "DURA-LITE 95%NYLON 5%OTHER FIBORS". Flag exhibits standard moderate wear of a course flown flag only used for a brief period of time. Argea's boss tournament champion Jack Nicklaus has signed a black sharpie autograph in the upper left side of the flag above the World Series of Golf logo. JSA provides letter of authenticity for the Nicklaus signature.
