1995 Mid-Amateur Champion Seminole Trophy - Coleman Invitational
This award comes from one of the most revered places in the game of golf, Seminole Golf Course. The Donald Ross links-style layout in Juno Beach, Florida has a long history in the game with Claude Harmon in his prime serving as professional, and known as the course where Ben Hogan yearly traveled in the 1950's to tune up his game prior to heading to Augusta for the Masters. It would be named the George L. Coleman for the Seminole president and Oklahoma oilman. It was Coleman who would host Hogan in his home on his yearly visits to Seminole. Also Coleman is known as the organizer who delivered Byron Nelson and Hogan as his two competitors to face amateurs Harvie Ward and Ken Venturi in "The Match" staged at Cypress Point. The trophy offered here like everything else associated with Seminole is first class. Presenting as a detailed carving of a Seminole Indian head it's recipient was the 1995 Mid-Amateur Champion.
