Francis Ouimet & Sam Snead Signed Brae Burn Country Club Scorecard
Approximately a year after Francis Ouimet's legendary 1913 US Open at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, Ouimet captured the local MGA State Amateur tournament title in 1914 at Brae Burn Country Club. While many consider Bobby Jones to be the greatest amateur golfer ever to play, Francis Ouimet is known as the "father of amateur golf" in the United States. Ouimet won the 1913 U.S. Open and the U.S. Amateur Championship in 1914 and 1931. The celebrated West Newton, Massachusetts club played host to the 1919 US Open and 1928 US Amateur, Walter Hagen and Bobby Jones triumphs respectively. Found in this lot is a Francis Ouimet & Sam Snead Signed Brae Burn Country Club Scorecard. Ouimet applied his stylish signature in pencil to the top center of this Brae Burn Country Club scorecard above the USGA rules reminder. Inside is a large Sam Snead signature, on the back nine of the card, with the names 'Snead,' 'Shephard,' 'Volpono' and 'Wright' written in pencil on the reverse. The makings of a great course, Brae Burn is known for its challenging greens and classic layout. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). 1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
