1950 Jacksonville Open Golf Tournament Amateur First Prize Sterling Silver Pitcher
This event which had its start in 1945 was a regular PGA Tour stop and the forerunner of today's Tournament Players Championship. The sixth annual event was contested at the Donald Ross designed Hyde Park Golf Club with Cary Middlecoff successfully defending his 1949 title. Frank Stranahan would claim the low amateur trophy in the event. His award is offered in this lot which carries the engraving:
