1952 Houston Open Runner-Up Plaque - Frank Stranahan
When Frank Stranahan was good he was really good, and that was the case in the second round of the PGA's 1952 Houston Open. He shot a six under round of 66 which was the low score by a professional or amateur in any of the four rounds that year at Houston's Memorial Park course. In the end only local professional and future Hall of Famer Jack Burke at 277 could go lower then Stranahan on the week. For his second place finish at the PGA's 1952 Houston Open "Stranny" received the following plaque detailing his accomplishments:
