Gary Player Signed 2002 OPEN at Muirfield Screen Flag with Dates Won
In 2002 The Open was once again hosted by the historic Muirfield Golf Links in Gullanr, East Lothian, Scotland. Gary Player remembers the venue fondly, as it was the site of his 1959 win as a young 23-year-old still with much golf to be played. The tournament that was near and dear to his heart crowned him 'Champion Golfer of the Year' on three different occasions in 1959, 1968 and 1974. Great thought went into this flag, being his first win venue at The Open, along with his signature are inscriptions of the three years he won in black sharpie. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
