Gene Sarazen's PGA National Championship Past Winner Badge
This little beauty once belonged to HOF Golfer Gene Sarazen. Given by the PGA to all of its past champions, Gene was awarded this badge because he won the PGA in 1922, 1923, and 1933. He won 38 PGA Tour events and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974. He beat Bobby Jones in the 1922 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club by 1 stroke. His most memorable shot was the double eagle on the 15th hole at Augusta National in the 1935 Masters which forced a 36 hole playoff and victory over Craig Wood. He has seven (7) majors to his credit, including the 1932 British Open, and won the career grand slam - a rare feat accomplished by only a handful of players (Nicklaus, Player, Woods, Jones).
