George S. May's PGA Badge/Credentials - Golf's Broadcasting Pioneer & Tam O'Shanter Club Owner
May is a name that many don't know, but should considering his achievements and improvements to the game of golf. In the 1940s and 1950s he turned the game into a mass spectated sport. The First televised golf event was in 1953 from his Tam O' Shanter course in Illinois. Along with the increase in spectators was the increase in purse size, as he was able to have a then record $25,000 first place prize for that tournament in 1953. Here is his credentials badge, issued by the PGA.A signed letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.

AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, May 19th, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
