Horton Smith's Personal Oak Hill 'Hill of Fame' Award Plaque From 1961

"Courageous - Inspiring - Leader - Master Golfer" as stated on the Oak Hill CC plaque only begins to describe the beloved champion of the first and third Masters Tournaments, as well as a dedicated teaching professional. Starting in 1956 by legendary club member Dr. John R. Williams' idea, the Hill of Fame was put into effect. On the club's East Course lies the 13th hole, which is shaded by large trees. 26 of those trees have plaques of a member that was elected into the OAk Hill 'Hill of Fame.' These members include President Dwight D Eisenhower, Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen, Ben Hogan and of course Horton Smith. This plaque has individual oak tree leaves adhered to it in the pattern that is found on the Oak Tree Country Club logo. This plaque measures 14 1/4" by 14 1/2." A letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.

This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, September 15th with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)

1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
