Horton Smith's Personal Used Spalding Shag Bag
Presenting work from the paintbrush of the mid-century Spalding Sporting Goods company artist is Horton Smith's personal shag bag found in this lot. Horton Smith notably won the first Masters Tournament in 1934 and followed it up two years later with yet another victory on the manicured grounds in Augusta, Georgia. The Spalding shag bag is composed of a vibrant red and navy blue color scheme, the perfect canvas for the white lettering accompanied by a black shadow. Brush strokes can be seen on the Spalding patent script font. 'HORTON SMITH' is written below in capital letters. There are signs of usage, with the bag still in good condition.
