Hubert Green Signed Official Used 1985 PGA Championship FINAL RD Scorecard

Presented in this lot is Hubert Green Signed Official Used 1985 PGA Championship FINAL RD Scorecard that propelled Green into the World Golf Hall of Fame, earning his second major and the title of PGA champion. Former U.S. Open Champion Hubert Green returned from virtual oblivion to out-duel defending Champion Lee Trevino at Cherry Hills Country Club in Englewood, Colorado. Lee Trevino carried, marked and signed this scorecard on August 11, 1985 while walking with The eventual champion Hubert Green. Green was calm under the intense major pressure, shooting 1-under over his last 13 holes as seen on his official FINAL round scorecard found in this lot. With sub-par rounds of 66 and 68, Trevino himself led at the midway point, but with closing rounds of 70 and 72, Green overtook Trevino for a two-stroke victory. Green lead off the tournament with low rounds himself, with a 67 and 69 himself. Colorado's Cherry Hills Country Club has played a large part in golf history, hosting 5 majors with 1985 slightly surprisingly being the most recent. These have been stored in the PGA of America archives until now, with final round major champion scorecards being an area of the collecting industry represented in very few private collections.
